Calming and relaxing without causing drowsiness

Our calming combos contain Scullcap & Valerian Tablets and Valerian Compound, both formulated to support anxiety, including noise anxiety from fireworks, in dogs or cats.

We know how stressful it can be if you have a pet with fireworks fear - for both you and them. Worse still, with ‚"fireworks season‚" becoming longer and less predictable, managing your fearful pet is more challenging than ever. Noise phobias are estimated to affect up to 50% of dogs in the UK and preparation is key, so if you know your pet is afraid of fireworks or suffers with a noise phobia, it's a good idea to start planning ahead‚ ideally at least a month in advance.

How do they work?

The active herbs in these products help to naturally support the calming pathways within the nervous system, reducing anxiety without immobilising muscles or causing drowsiness. Valerian and mistletoe support the natural relaxant pathways within the nervous system, without affecting muscle tone and helping circulation. Scullcap contains valuable compounds including those which bind to the GABA receptor and reduce anxiety. Gentian supports natural active compounds and helps normal liver function, and vervain is commonly used to help ease anxiety.

When do I need to start giving the products?

For best results, we advise Scullcap & Valerian Tablets are given every day for a minimum of three weeks, ideally alongside gentle and consistent behavioural work and training. However, even if you only start the day or so before your dog will still benefit.

For "one-off‚" stressful events, our Valerian Compound is a great short-term, quicker-acting option and can also be used alongside Scullcap & Valerian Tablets for a top-up, if needed.
